• eCommerce expert Sven Rittau to be elected to the Supervisory Board
The chairman of the Supervisory Board of bmp Holding AG _ISIN DE0003304200_, Gerd Schmitz-Morkramer, will be resigning from office by his own request at the end of the Annual General Meeting on 6 July. He was first elected to the company's Supervisory Board in May 2003 and took over as its Chairman in June 2006.
Gerd Schmitz-Morkramer describes his decision thus: "I appreciate the confidence that our company's shareholders have placed in me throughout my tenure. After successfully shifting the focus of bmp, it is now time to make room for younger candidates with experience in online commerce, thereby clearing new paths for bmp's future".
His current vice-chairman, Bernd Brunke, will step in as replacement for the chairmanship of the Supervisory Board. Bernd Brunke has been a member of the Supervisory Board since June 2006 and has extensive knowledge of bmp, as well as of the retail market.
The Supervisory Board will recommend that the Annual General Meeting on 6 July elect Sven Rittau to fill the board seat that will be vacant. Sven Rittau has many years of experience in the field. Among other achievements, he co-founded zooplus AG in 1999, where he served as COO until 2007. Since 2014, he has acted as Managing Director of K5 GmbH, a network for online commerce.
