Following classification of the former venture capital business as a “discontinued operation" in the first quarter of 2015 and the successful majority takeover of online trader sleepz GmbH on 1 May 2015, in the second quarter the new e-commerce Sleep business generated revenue for the first time. This amounted to approximately € 1 million for the first two months of full consolidation of sleepz GmbH (previous year: € 0 million).
The first half of 2015 closed with a profit of € 0.5 million (previous year: loss of € 0.1 million). Due to the fact, that minus € 0.2 million is attributable to non-controlling shareholders (of sleepz GmbH), the income, which was attributable to bmp Holding's shareholders, amounted to € 0.7 million. It was primarily attributable to the positive contribution of € 0.9 million from the discontinued operation.
bmp Holding AG also founded the subsidiary Grafenfels Manufaktur GmbH at the end of June 2015. As of the fourth quarter of 2015, this company intends to sell its own “Grafenfels" mattress brand which it developed in-house, thereby developing into a second revenue mainstay for bmp Holding AG.
Depending on further acquisitions, we anticipate revenue of € 5-7 million and a net loss of € 0.5-1 million from operating business for the second half of 2015. The overall result in 2015 will continue to depend on the earnings contributed by the discontinued operation.
